Since 1968, at least 38 global statements, calls for action and vows calling for increased access to family planning have been issued. The purpose of the Kampala 2009: Reaffirmation to Global Family Planning Commitments is to highlight these past statements with the intention of recommitting international and national leaders to working for universal access to family planning.
